Announcement Board:

Keeping pets safe during cold weather!

In cold weather, watch for signs that your dog is cold, like shivering, whining, or reluctance to walk. Severe signs of hypothermia (can range from mild to severe) or frostbite (can take several days to develop), like pale skin, weakness, or difficulty walking, require immediate veterinary attention. To protect your dog, keep them indoors during extreme cold, limit outdoor time, and consider using sweaters or coats for added warmth. After walks, wipe down their paws to remove harmful chemicals, and use booties to protect their feet. Always provide a warm, draft-free place for them to rest, and it is a good idea to keep them leashed during snowy conditions to avoid getting lost.

OVC Smith Lane Animal Hospital is AAHA Accredited

AAHA Standards of Accreditation: AAHA-accredited practices voluntarily hold themselves to a higher standard. Pets are their passion, and keeping them healthy is their number one priority. AAHA-accredited practices are at the heart of better care for pets and their people.
